New Technologies and Craniofacial Microsurgery

We have successfully developed the FEDER-funded Personalized Surgery Service in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, which is now implemented in the Hospital as a go-to hub for any Service with 3D-printing needs. We have been developing a follow-up and treatment protocol of patients with Oral Pre-Malignant Disorders (OPMDs) in our Oral Pathology Unit. We have also strengthened our collaboration in the framework of the INTercEption of oRal CancEr development (INTERCEPT) COST Action. In this context, we are working on a cooperative effort to pinpoint the existing solutions in mHealth and eHealth for the follow-up of patients with OPMDs. We are developing new databases to bring patient information together and to promote the generation of knowledge by analyzing medical data. In our cancer research line, we have continued our collaboration in several clinical trials led by the VHIO. Our research line devoted to childhood-specific diseases has also been working on several long-term projects.
