Clinical Research/Innovation in Pneumonia & Sepsis (CRIPS)

We developed activity on antimicrobial stewardship, with 8 reports and publishing a position paper. Infections in patients with ECMO is an unmet clinical need and the group has participated with an invited lecture at EURO-ELSO and published two reports. Several research projects have covered the knowledge gap in COVID-19, both in adults and children. The research activity in evidence-based medicine has been generating several systematic reviews / meta-analyses culminating in the PhD Thesis from Sofia Tejada based on ten publications. As part of the commitments with CIBERES, the group activities are aligned with ICP of Pneumonia with participation in the lines of personalized medicine & clinical practice guidelines / systematic reviews. Participation in the panel of ESCMID clinical practice guidelines on influenza management is ongoing. Important contributions have been done on aerosolized antibiotics, Gender gap research (in solid organ transplants) and ambiental pollution.
