Pharmacokinetic Nanoparticles

The activities of the group can be divided in three lines, first we promote the use of cerium oxide nanoparticles as antioxidant-immunomodulatory- agents to protect tissues from oxidative stress and dismiss inflammation. We have produced and applied this substance in preclinical models of Parkinson disease, epilepsy, and cardiac arrhythmia, also in models of T lymphoma, results are being reported. We have also tested virus like particles based on gold nanoparticles coated viral proteins to induce complete, neutralizing and long-lasting immune protection. Besides, we have consolidated our ionizable lipids encapsulation methodologies providing encapsulated oligonucleotides samples to our colleagues in ophthalmology, hepatology, and nephrology. We have pre-licensed one of our patents to a Swiss company based on the use of cerium oxide nanoparticles to treat retinal diseases, while we continue developing the use of cerium oxide nanoparticles to treat retinal diseases.
