Reconstructive Surgery of the Locomotor System

Our research group has been established with 7 different units, each following a line of research: traumatic, bone septic disease, knee, hip, hand, shoulder and foot and ankle pathology. During this year several studies have been completed allowing the analysis and development of their manuscripts. Other previous projects have remained active, as well as new collaborations have been established. 9 doctoral theses are in progress, and we were awarded with a national competitive grant from the SCCOT (Societat Catalana de Cirurgia Ortopèdica i Traumatologia) to conduct a clinical trial regarding prosthetic infections. We have followed our previous strategies implemented, combining active participation as collaborators in relevant national and international trials, in addition to promoting our own research through motivated investigators. Researchers are encouraged to disseminate the obtained results from these studies in national and international congresses and scientific journals.
