Spine Research Unit

Vall d’Hebron Spine Research Unit (VHSRU) is a growing multidisciplinary group of professionals devoted to the study of complex spinal disorders. VHSRU is formed by 5 surgeons and 4 researchers organized in 4 different research lines: Pediatric and Adolescent Spinal Deformity, Adult Spinal Deformity, Spinal Cord Injuries in Trauma, Tumors and Degenerative Conditions and Cell therapy techniques in spinal surgery. VHSRU mission and main objective is to improve the treatment (mainly surgical), health care and, therefore, the quality of life of patients affected by spinal pathologies. During 2023, we have published 19 new manuscripts. We have been involved as coordinator or collaborator in 41 funded research projects (14 competitive and 27 non-competitive).
